One Olympian and 6 Tickets
By: Kim Grasso, EWA International Travel Counselor
As we approach the start of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, I had the pleasure of booking the Page Family tickets to see Danielle Page compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Her father Fred Page, step mother Diane Page, her two younger brothers Cliff & Brady Page, her grandmother Ann Page & her cousin Paige Gallotta will all be traveling down to Rio to root on Danielle. What an amazing experience this will be for the Page family. They will see the best of the best athletes compete and fulfill their dreams including their own daughter.
Danielle Page is an American-born Serbian Women’s basketball player. Danielle was born in Colorado Springs and graduated from Nebraska. Danielle is Nebraska’s second former player to play in the Olympics. Back in 2012 Chelsea Aubry was the captain for the Canadian Olympic Team at the London Games. Danielle helped Nebraska to four consecutive postseason appearances including back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids in 2007 & 2008. Danielle suffered an injury after her sophomore year at Nebraska and returned back to court nearly 3 months earlier than expected. With her hard work and dedication, she became a huge weapon for the team. Danielle wasn’t drafted into the WNBA, however she signed with WNBA’s Connecticut Sun, where she spent her 2008 rookie season. From there Danielle spent 8 seasons playing professionally overseas in Europe, Bulgaria, Israel, Hungary and France.
While at Nebraska Danielle made a few Serbian connections playing with Jelena Spiric, Ivana Drmanac & Bojana Samardzsiska, she was able to obtain the needed paperwork to gain Serbian citizenship following her 2014-15 season. Danielle helped lead Serbia to the gold medal at the 2015 FIBA EuroBasket Championships and this is Serbia’s first-ever bid to the Olympics in women’s basketball.
The entire Page family is overly excited and so proud and blessed to be able to head to Rio to cheer Danielle on. This is such an important event in Danielle’s life and career and I feel very lucky to have helped the Page family with their tickets. It’s not every day you get to see your daughter, sister, granddaughter live out her dreams as an Olympian athlete. Being an athlete myself I can’t even imagine what it feels like to be an Olympian. I feel so incredibly honored to be a part of this epic moment for the Page family.
On behalf of the entire EWA Staff we are wishing you all the luck in the world Danielle!!
